Tumushabe is a 59-year-old woman from Uganda. She is a widow and a mother of two sons. She works on a farm.
For twenty years, Tumushabe has had a mass on her neck. She began to experience troubling symptoms, including headache and pain. Recently, she was diagnosed with a goiter. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Tumushabe receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on December 5 at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $240, and she and her family need help raising money.
Tumushabe says, “I hope to continue with cultivation when I am done with surgery.”
