Kabagenyi is a joyful 59-year-old grandmother from Uganda. She also works as a farmer and grows food for sale and for her own consumption.
Kabagenyi shares with our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF), that she noticed a mass extending from a sensitive area about two years ago. Kabagenyi assumed it was a condition that comes with old age and did not pursue treatment. However, she become worried when she began experiencing fatigue, back pain, and lower abdominal pain.
Kabagenyi has been diagnosed with uterine prolapse (a condition in which the uterus dislodges from its normal position) and requires surgery to treat it.
AMHF has scheduled Kabagenyi in for surgery on November 16. “I am unable to pay for this myself,” says Kabagenyi. We can help by raising the required $287.
After surgery, Kabagenyi says that she “hopes to continue working in my garden.”
