Sim is a 70-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has six children, seven grandchildren, and enjoys watching Khmer movies in her free time.
Five months ago, Sim developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision, tearing, and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Sim learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for six and a half hours seeking treatment. On November 1st, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
“I hope that I will no longer have to worry about my mother’s condition and she will be able to see clearly after her operation,” said Sin’s daughter.
