Samol is a 50-year-old policeman from Cambodia. Samol has been married for 32 years. He has one son, one daughter, and five grandchildren. Samol’s wife is a vegetable seller at the market. He shared that he enjoys listening to the radio, reading the newspaper, taking care of his grandchildren, and drinking coffee with his friends.
In February 2020, Samol was in a motor vehicle accident that caused a right tibia fracture. After his accident he went to a different hospital that put a screws in his tibia. The bone is healed but an infection has developed on the hardware site. He experiences discharge and it is painful to walk.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On September 30th, Samol will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $230. The hardware will be removed and the wound will be cleaned to treat the infection and keep it from spreading.
Samol said, “I hope once the hardware is removed, my leg will be better so I can walk without pain.”
