Thang is a rice farmer from Cambodia. He has one young son, and spends most of his time being a new dad.
When he was fourteen, Thang had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in his left ear to perforate. For this reason, Thang experiences pain and discharge. He is worried about going deaf and constantly goes to the pharmacy to try and find a cure.
Thang traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On November 30, he will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in his left ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $423 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care.
His wife says, “I hope my husband feels happy and healthy after surgery.”
