Vanna is a 30-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He has six siblings, and enjoys watching comedians on television in his free time.
One year ago, Vanna developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him complete vision loss. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Vanna learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for two and a half hours seeking treatment. On April 30, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I hope that after my surgery, I will be able see clearly and return to my work on the rice farm.”
