Sokhim is a 66-year-old man from Cambodia. He is married and has three sons, three daughters, and thirteen grandchildren! He enjoys visiting the local pagoda to listen to monks pray as well as planting vegetables around his home.
About five months ago, Sokhim developed cataracts in each of his eyes, causing him blurred vision and making it difficult for him to be independent. Hearing about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), from an in-law, he traveled to their care center.
On March 7, Sokhim will undergo surgery and receive intraocular implants in each of his eyes at CSC’s care center, Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre, to repair his vision. Our medical partner is asking for $292 to cover the cost of his treatment.
After surgery, Sokhim looks forward to being independent again!
