Noemi is a 33-year-old woman from Guatemala with a rheumatologic disorder that, until recently, she had successfully managed with medication. Noemi went to the doctor because she was having problems with her vision. She was diagnosed with inflammation in her eye. Eye inflammation is a known complication of her original condition. If left untreated, it could leave Noemi blind.
Fortunately, Noemi’s situation is easily treatable. Her doctor told us that with specialized anti-inflammatory medications and close monitoring, she will be completely fine. He explained, “These medications are quite expensive locally, which is why we are looking for help!”
Noemi loves to weave in her spare time, but she needs her vision to do it! Let’s make sure she gets the treatment she needs so she can get on with her life.
