Sinoeun is a 17-year-old monk. He has four brothers and three sisters. His favorite hobbies are listening to the news on the radio, reading books on monkhood, and helping clean the pagoda.
In 2011, Sinoeun fell and sustained a lesion on his lower lip. Since then, he has developed granuloma, a small area of inflammation that is often the result of an infection. The cyst has grown in size and is causing Sinoeun difficulty eating.
Sinoeun came to our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), for medical attention. Surgeons are scheduled to remove the cyst on March 24. CSC is requesting $224 to fund the procedure. Removing the cyst will allow Sinoeun to be comfortable again.

Sinoeun underwent cyst removal surgery.
Sinoeun’s treatment went well. Following the procedure, he was given antibiotics. His wounds have healed nicely, and he does not experience any pain. Sinoeun is now able to eat more easily than before.
Sinoeun says, “I am happy with the results of the surgery. I can eat better now. Thanks to all of the staff for helping me.”
