Samuel is a 32-year-old father of three from Uganda. He is a small scale farmer who cultivates food for home consumption and sells his surplus to cover his family’s needs.
In 2014, Samuel started to feel intermittent pain in his groin, and by 2016 the paid had increased and he noticed a swelling in the region.
Samuel visited our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, for evaluation and treatment. Doctors found Samuel’s pain to be caused by bilateral hernias in his groin. He is now scheduled to undergo hernia repair surgery on June 7.
The $249 requested by our medical partner to fund Samuel’s surgery will cover a three night hospital stay, supplies, labs, and medication. After surgery, Samuel hopes to continue farming.
