Karduni is a nine-year-old student from Central Tanzania and a cheerful boy. He is the fifth born in a family of six children.
In 2014, Karduni and his siblings were playing when he accidentally stepped on piece of firewood, spilling boiling water. He suffered severe burns on his left foot. The burns healed with contractures that made walking difficult and he underwent contracture release surgery that was funded by Watsi. Now, he needs a follow-up skin graft revision to help his healing.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping Karduni receive treatment. On June 10th, surgeons will perform a skin graft procedure to cover the open wound allowing it to fully heal. Now, Karduni’s family needs help to fund this $747 procedure.
Karduni shared, “I would like my foot to be okay so that I can start walking once more.”
