Fabian is a cheerful and active five-year-old preschooler. He lives with his parents and siblings in a small rental house in the suburbs of Nairobi, Kenya. His father works as a part-time driver, and his mother is a homemaker. Fabian and his twin brother are among the youngest in the family––his oldest sibling is 21 years old.
In December of 2016, Fabian started to experience intermittent pain and swelling in his genital region. He was diagnosed with an acquired hydrocele, a buildup of fluid. On December 29, Fabian will undergo a surgery to treat his condition and to ameliorate his pain and discomfort. After recovering from the surgery, Fabian will once again run freely around the courtyard of his nursery school with his friends.
Fabian’s father cannot afford the full cost of the treatment, so our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $423 in funding.
“I will appreciate any help towards his treatment,” says Fabian’s mother.
