Phoeun is a 58-year-old farmer from Cambodia. He is married with two sons and four daughters. In his free time he likes to plant vegetables, listen to the news on the radio, and plant small trees.
Phoeun developed a mass on his wrist about four years ago. The mass makes it difficult for him to move his wrist and has affected his ability to work. Phoeun heard about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), from his neighbor.
Phoeun and his wife traveled for four hours to reach CSC for treatment, and is now scheduled to undergo surgery to remove the mass on his wrist on June 20. CSC is requesting $220 to cover the total cost of his procedure.

Phoeun underwent mass removal surgery.
Phoeun’s treatment for his right wrist went well. The mass was removed and it was sent to histology for further examination. Following the procedure, he was given pain medication and he had one week of physiotherapy at CSC before being discharged. His wounds have healed nicely and he does not experience any pain.
Phoeun says, “I can use my right hand better now and without pain. Thanks to the donors, doctors, and staff at CSC for helping me.”
