Oreni is a four-year-old boy from Uganda. He lives with his grandmother, Annah, in a rural village, along with five of his cousins. He enjoys playing football with his friends and learning how to weave mats with his grandmother. Oreni’s grandmother works hard to support her family, growing beans, cassava, millet, yam, potatoes, and vegetables on a small plantation.
About one year ago, Oreni began to lose his appetite and his belly began to swell. He was diagnosed with malnutrition and treated at a local clinic, but his condition did not improve. He was then referred to our medical partner’s care center, Bwindi Community Hospital, for further treatment.
Our medical partner, The Kellerman Foundation, is requesting $316 to fund Oreni’s treatment. He is scheduled to begin treatment on September 19 at Bwindi Community Hospital. He looks forward to going to school after he recovers.
“I thank donors for supporting my grandson’s treatment that I was worried about paying,” Annah says. “And I pray God to reward donors in everything they do to support us.”
