Kasaija is an 80-year-old man from Uganda. He is a widower and father of ten children. Kaisaja now lives with his grandchildren, who help him with domestic work. He has a banana plantation, and also cultivates cabbages to sell.
About four years ago, Kasaija started noticing a swelling in his left scrotum. He used local herbs but the swelling kept increasing. In early 2017, he decided to go the hospital and was diagnosed with a left hydrocele (a fluid buildup around the testicle). The doctor told him that he needed surgery. If not treated, Kasaija could experience intestinal tissue damage due to hydrocele twisting or blocking. His treatment is scheduled for mid-October.
After recovery, Kasaija will resume working on his banana farm and other simple chores around the home. He says, “I need help to have surgery.”
Watsi is requesting $185 to help cover the cost of the procedure.
