Anab is a woman originally from Somalia. She was the mother of four children, but sadly two of her children passed away while fleeing the civil war in Somalia. She is now a refugee living with her relatives in Kenya.
Seven years ago, Anab began to lose her vision. She had developed a cataract in her right eye. A cataract occurs when the lens of the eye becomes opaque, blurring vision. Since it did not hurt, and she did not have financial resources to visit the hospital, her right eye’s vision has continued to deteriorate.
Fortunately, Anab is scheduled to undergo cataract surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove and replace the blurred lens. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $220 procedure.
Anab says, “My hope is to have improved vision on my eye. I am not able to make my way around and I trust this treatment will be of assistance to me.”
