Yvonne is currently a student in grade seven in her primary school. She is also the second-born in her family of three children.
When she was five years old, Yvonne started being sick. Yvonne has enlarged tonsils, which make it hard for her to eat or breath well. She also regularly experiences fevers due to infections of the tonsils.
She was referred to our medical partner’s care center, Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre (ALMC), for medical treatment. At ALMC, Yvonne was recommended to undergo surgery to remove her tonsils. If not treated, Yvonne will not be able to attend school regularly.
Yvonne’s parents cannot afford to pay for treatment, so they need help. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $633 to fund her surgery and hospital stay. Yvonne is scheduled to undergo tonsilectomy surgery on July 20.
“Please help me get better,” Yvonne says. “I am in pain and most times I can’t breathe or eat well.”
