Aturinda is a hotel attendant from Uganda. She is 47 years old and married with seven children.
Aturinda has had a neck swelling for 24 years. Recently, she began to experience troubling symptoms, including pain and heat intolerance. She was diagnosed with a multinodular goiter. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Aturinda receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on December 12 at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $240, and she and her family need help raising money.
Aturinda says, “I will continue operating the hotel with my husband for the survival of my family.”
