Dohn is a 21-month-old baby boy, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He lives in a village in Karen State, Burma, with his family.
Back in April, Dohn had a fever and experienced vomiting. When his condition did not improve after two days, his mother took him to a local hospital where a CT scan revealed a fluid-filled mass in his brain and a possible tumor. His parents were advised that Dohn would need surgery.
The fluid around his brain was drained, but due to infection, no further procedure was done at that time. Dohn has now been transferred to our medical partner’s care center, Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital, where a doctor performed a surgery to manage the fluid build up in his brain. Now, the doctor recommends a CT scan to determine whether the surgery was successful.
On June 1, Dohn will undergo a CT scan through our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF). BCMF is requesting $693 to fund the CT scan, three nights of hospital stay, and transportation.
