Thuon is a 50-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He has four children, one grandchild, and enjoys watching boxing on television in his spare time.
One year ago, Thuon developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him vision loss. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Thuon learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for two and a half hours seeking treatment. On October 08, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
Thuon said, “I hope that I will be able to see clearly so I can return to my work planting rice.”
