Lameck is an 83-year-old farmer from Malawi. He is the senior chief of his area and lives with his wife and extended family. Lameck spends most of his time working within his community, settling disputes, providing counseling, and ensuring that everyone has their needs met. In Lameck’s extremely rare free time, he enjoys reading the newspaper and keeping up with current events.
For the past seven months, Lameck has been struggling to maintain his farm and carry out his duties as chief because of symptoms of an enlarged prostate. His condition is curable with surgery, but his family was unable to afford the procedure until Watsi came into the picture.
Lameck is scheduled to have prostate resection surgery on August 2. He will need $733 to fund his procedure.
Lameck is looking forward to his operation, which will allow him to continue serving his people and providing for his family.
