Chhorda is a 24-year-old government worker from Cambodia. He has three sisters and two brothers. In his free time, he likes to watch TV, play badminton, and listen to pop songs.
In June 2015, Chhorda began experiencing mild heel pain. A few months later, this pain became severe. After a medical consultation, it was determined that he has chronic Achilles tendonitis. If left untreated, this may lead to tendon rupture and permanent damage.
Additionally, doctors have found an osteolytic lesion on Chhorda’s heel, indicating a potential area of severe bone loss. The combination of both conditions severely impacts Chhorda’s ability to walk.
On February 28, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), will perform a biopsy procedure to remove a sample of tissue from Chhorda’s right heel to be examined by a pathologist for signs of disease. CSC is requesting $224 to help fund the treatment for this young man and help him return to his daily life unhindered.
