Ke is 71 years old has one son, three daughters, and six grandchildren. In her free time, she likes to listen to the monks pray at the pagoda.
Two years ago, Ke developed a cataract in each eye, causing her blurred vision and tearing. Ke has trouble seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and working on her own.
When Ke learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for five hours to seek treatment. On May 1, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, Ke will be able to see clearly again. Now, she needs help to fund this $292 procedure.

Ke underwent cataract surgery.
Her eye cataract was successfully removed from her left eye, and clear vision has been restored. Following the operation, she was given eye drops to reduce inflammation and prevent infection. She will return soon for the same surgery on her right eye.
Ke says, “I am very happy that I can see clearly again. I can recognize faces and join ceremonies easily. I can go anywhere by myself.”
