Pelisi is a sweet grandmother who keeps busy by helping her disabled daughter care for her children. This has been difficult lately, because Pelisi suffers from senile cataracts, a vision-impairing condition that causes gradual thickening of the lens and is one of the leading causes of blindness in the world today.
Pelisi’s daughter lost one of her limbs in a car accident. Her siblings (Pelisi’s other children) were killed in the same accident. Since then, Pelisi has been instrumental in assuming responsibility for her grandkids. She needs surgery to treat her cataracts and enable her to see.
Pelisi’s cataract surgery will cost $375, and her doctors say they expect it to completely restore her sight.
