Sambo is a young rice farmer from Cambodia. He is married. He likes to spend time at home and tend to his vegetable garden.
Four months ago, he was in a motor vehicle accident that caused a fracture in his right femur. It is difficult for him to walk and he is in chronic pain.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On September 5, Sambo will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will cost $430. This procedure will help him walk easily again.
He says, “I hope after the operation I can return to work and support my family.”

Sambo underwent fracture repair surgery.
Sambo’s surgery went well and he’s been working with the physiotherapy team to improve the mobility and function in his leg. Surgery will allow Sambo to greatly improve his quality of life and allow him to walk and work without pain.
His father says, “Thank you for supporting my son’s surgery. He is doing a lot better.”
