Gloria is a funny and sociable five-year-old girl who loves reading and learning. She is the youngest of three children and lives with her family in Kenya.
When Gloria was young, her mother noticed that Gloria started walking late compared to other children her age. She also noticed a small bone protruding from Gloria’s hip, but when she took Gloria to a local clinic, she was informed that the issue would resolve itself. As Gloria began walking, she walked with a limp and her mother saw no change in her hip.
Seeking treatment through our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, Gloria is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on June 5. Her family is requesting $1,165 to cover the total cost of her procedure and care.
After her recovery, Gloria will be able to walk and stand comfortably.
“My hope is to see my daughter get the right treatment and to see her walking to and from school without any difficulty,” says Gloria’s mother.
