Sophara is an energetic 14-year-old boy who loves to play sports with friends, but sometimes he feels shy because he was born with an extra thumb on his right hand. Sophara says he is scared to show people because he is afraid of how they will treat him.
Wanting to improve his self-confidence and enable him to play more freely with improved dexterity, Sophara asked his mom to take him to Children’s Surgical Centre (our medical partner in Cambodia) to get help. The surgeons will remove Sophara’s extra thumb and reconstruct his hand to create a normal appearance and functionality.
A $300 surgery will get Sophara back in the game and help him grow into the confident young man we know he will be.
