Mutuku is a 47-year-old man from Kenya. He lives with his wife and five children on the family’s ancestral land. Mutuku works as a casual laborer in railroad construction, and his wife works as a farmer.
Mutuku was recently in a severe vehicular accident, during which he sustained several fractures, including a fractured jaw. He has been recovering well and is now ready to undergo treatment for his jaw on March 7. The procedure will involve surgeons realigning the broken bone into a normal position and inserting hardware to keep the healing bone stable and healthy. Mutuku’s jaw surgery will help prevent infection and ensure he is able to eat comfortably in the future.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $640 to fund Mutuku’s procedure.
Mutuku looks forward to returning to normal life after his treatment, saying, “I would like to get well and…to keep providing for my family.”
