Sok Kuy is a three-year-old boy from Cambodia. He has one sister and one brother, and likes to stay at home, play, and watch animated movies.
Sok Kuy burned his right hand in a fire when he was just one-year-old. Burn contractures have developed on four of his fingers. A contracture occurs when the skin scars after burning, and causes the skin around the burns to tighten. Because of this, it is difficult for Sok Kuy to use his right hand.
Sok Kuy sought help through our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), where he will receive burn contracture release surgery on June 14, allowing him full use of his hand. CSC is requesting $194 to cover the total cost of his treatment.
