Eliasi is a farmer from Malawi. Eliasi lives with his wife and their six children in a small village. To supplement the family income, Eliasi raises chickens and sells eggs. When he has downtime, Eliasi likes to spend it with his family, chatting and playing games.
Since July 2017, Eliasi has been experiencing pain and urinary difficulty. These symptoms are caused by an enlarged prostate, a condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia. He needs to undergo a prostate resection surgery, a procedure in which surgeons will remove part of the enlarged gland.
Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $733 to fund Eliasi’s surgery. On November 14, he will undergo prostate surgery at Nkhoma Hospital, our medical partner’s care center. The requested money pays for supplies, medications, and two weeks of hospital stay. Eliasi is looking forward to working his land again, as he has been unable to do so due to his condition.
He says, “I had no money to pay for this surgery; I am so grateful for your support.”
