Oun is a 75-year-old retired rice farmer with two daughters, five sons, and 15 grandchildren. Oun lives with her husband and their eldest daughter who is a farmer. Oun likes to visit the pagoda and listen to the monks pray.
One year ago, Oun developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her pain and partial blindness. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, and is not able to go places on her own.
When Oun learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for four and a half hours seeking treatment. On June 9th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery, and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs your help to fund this $253 procedure.
Oun says, “I hope after surgery my eye can see better and I can easily go outside on my own.”
