Emmanuel is a 52-year-old driver and the father of three children, all of whom work as farmers. Emmanuel works as a personal driver once a week, earning wages according to the amount of time he spends driving. He shared that given the limited number of hours that he works, he doesn’t earn enough to meet his family’s needs.
Emmanuel developed a right inguinal hernia about a year ago, and due to the pain and to the risk of the hernia becoming strangulated, he can no longer drive.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), can help Emmanuel. On June 7th, he is scheduled for hernia repair surgery at Karoli Lwanga Hospital in Nyakibale. AMH is requesting $230 to fund this procedure, which will enable Emmanuel to return to a life without pain, and to resume his work as a driver.
Emmanuel says: “It is quite painful to suffer without any hope of having treatment. I cry out to you, I beg for your support to restore my health so that I can work hard to sustain my family.”
