Promise is the youngest in her family of four. Her older siblings are all in school. Her mother works on the farm while her father operates a motorcycle taxi (bodaboda) to make ends meet for their family.
Since a year ago, Promise has been having an abdominal lipoma. The swelling has now become painful, especially when she is put to sleep on her stomach. She was brought to our medical partner Nyakibale Hospital and doctors recommend surgery. Her parents are not able to raise the funds needed and so appeal for financial assistance.
On October 18th, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Promise’s family needs help to raise $137 to fund this procedure.
Promise’s mother says, “I hope she will be able to have peace of mind after surgery because she almost spends the whole night crying but with surgery, she will be relieved from the pains that she has always had.”
