Sonita and her parents travelled 4 hours by van to be seen by the Children’s Surgical Centre. There, her providers told them that Sonita has strabismus, or what is commonly known as a “squint” or “cross eye.” Currently, her vision is still normal, but she is about to start school, and increasing strain on her eye can lead to eventual vision loss, headaches, and fatigue.
Sonita is a shy girl who loves to play outside. Correcting her eye will help provide her with the confidence to gain friends and play outside with them.
We are raising $300 for Sonita’s strabismus correction, so that she can go to school and reach her full social and educational potential. Time is imperative for Sonita, as delaying surgery can seriously impact her vision.
