Joseph is a 62-year-old farmer from Uganda who has been married to his wife for 41 years. They have eight children. One is still living at home and attends senior high school. They have fifteen grandchildren. Joseph works as a lay church leader and small farmer. He grows bananas, coffee, tea, and many vegetables. His wife helps with their farm. On Sundays he leads church services. In his leisure time, Joseph enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them about life, and sharing ideas with other village members about improving village life.
Three weeks ago, Joseph was walking on a slippery hillside near his home when he slipped and fell, breaking his wrist. He didn’t realize that his wrist was broken and went to a local health center for pain medication. When he kept using his hand, the swelling got worse. He walked 50 km to the hospital where they discovered the break. $133 will cover the costs of the x-ray and cast Joseph needs.
Joseph shared, “I give thanks to all the donors and to God for this help. Thank you so much.”
