Sok is a 52 year old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has two sons and two daughters, and enjoys watching Khmer dramas on television in her free time.
Three years ago, Sok developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her pain, irritation, itchiness, and cloudy vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Sok learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for two and a half hours seeking treatment. On June 5, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
Her niece says, “I hope that my aunt will be able to see clearly and that her condition with increase after her operation.”
