42-year-old Byarugaba lives with his wife and three young children in Uganda. He works as a casual laborer on plantations and gardens to support his family.
Byarugaba first noticed a swelling on the back on his neck eight years ago. The mass has increased in size over the years, and the pain now prevents Byarugaba from carrying heavy items on his head and shoulders.
Byarugaba has been diagnosed with a neck lipoma and will undergo surgery on August 15 to remove it. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $187 to pay for the surgery.
“I hope to go back to work afterwards so I can continue to support my family,” shares Byarugaba.
