Yi is a 57-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He has three brothers, three sisters, and enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio in his free time.
One month ago, Yi developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her pain, irritation, tearing, and blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Yi learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On November 21, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
Yi said, “I hope I am able to see more clearly and can recognize my relatives’s faces, and be able to go anywhere I want to on my own.”
