Nant is a 47-year-old woman from Burma who lives with her husband and three sons. Her husband is a pastor, she is a homemaker, and her three sons are students. Nant has gallstones and common bile duct stones, which cause loss of appetite and poor sleep. She also feels weak and cannot walk as much as she could before. Nant has received medication and injections, which have helped to lessen the pain in her back and abdomen and decrease jaundice. However, only surgery can help her recover. Nant has been advised to undergo a cholecystectomy, the surgical removal of the gallbladder. If left untreated, Nant's symptoms will continue to worsen and put her at risk for further health complications in the future. After seeking treatment through our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF), Nant is scheduled to undergo her cholecystectomy on March 6th. BCMF is requesting $1,487 to cover the total cost of Nant's procedure and care. Nant said, “I have been praying for this miracle. I am very thankful to [BCMF] for their kindness in supporting me and my family. Now, I will pray for my surgery to be a successful one. I am looking forward to a full recovery from this condition because I want to continue serving God together with my husband and children.”

Kheng is a 59-year-old retired rice farmer from Cambodia. Her husband passed away many years ago. She has two sons, five daughters, and many grandchildren. At home, Kheng enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio and playing with her grandchildren. A year ago, Kheng developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so she cannot go places on her own. When Kheng learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), she traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On November 15th, doctors will perform cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. CSC is requesting $253 to fund this procedure. Kheng shared: "After surgery, I hope I can see well, go outside, and recognize the faces of my grandchildren."

Sat is an 80-year-old retired bean farmer. She has two sons, four daughters, and 11 grandchildren, and lives with her youngest daughter in Kampong Cham province in Cambodia. Sadly, her husband passed away four years ago. Two years ago, Sat developed a cataract in her right eye, resulting in sensitivity to light and blurry vision. These symptoms make it difficult for Sat to see clearly, and to live completely independently. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is helping Sat access the treatment she needs. On February 7th, doctors at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre will perform cataract surgery and implant an intraocular lens in her right eye. After recovery, Sat will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs your help to fund this $253 procedure. Sat said: "I hope my eye will see better. I want to make Khmer cakes to sell to improve our living."
