Ing is a 69-year-old widow and retired rice farmer. She lives in Kampong Cham province with her daughter, who is a farmer. Her husband passed away five years ago from hypertension. She also has one son and seven beautiful grandchildren. At home, she enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio and cooking for her grandchildren.
One year ago, Ing developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry vision and light sensitivity. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so is not able to go places on her own.
When Ing learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for three and half hours seeking treatment. On December 13th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and implant a new lens in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $253 procedure.
Ing said: “After surgery, I hope I can see and help my daughter to do housework.”
