Anicent is an 18-year-old young lady from Uganda. She went to school up to class six, and she is the sixth born in a family of eight children. She currently helps her parents farm. They live in a modest house and survive primarily on crops they grow, such as beans and potatoes.
For five years, Anicent has had an umbilical hernia. She has pains and, currently, she is unable to help her parents with their farming due to her condition. She was brought to Rushoroza Hospital and, after a scan revealed the hernia, surgery was recommended. Her family is unable to pay for the surgery, and is seeking help.
Fortunately, on November 8th, Anicent will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $170 to fund Anicent’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably and confidently.
Anicent says, “I pray and hope to live a normal and better life after surgery so that I may keep farming and be able to develop myself for a better future.”
