Kean is a farmer from Cambodia. She has two sons, one daughter, and five grandchildren. She likes to visit the local pagoda in her free time.
Four years ago, Kean developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her pain, tearing, photophobia, and blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Kean learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On July 16, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I want to take care of my grandchildren and go outside independently.”
