Sorn is a 49-year-old construction worker from Cambodia. He lives in Takeo province with his wife, son, and daughter. His wife is a seamstress at a local clothes factory, his son is a construction worker, and his daughter manages the house and cooks for the family. In his free time, Sorn likes to fish or find crabs in the rice fields. In early July, Sorn was on his motorbike when he collided with a small truck. He fractured both his right tibia and his right ulna. Sorn had surgery at a local government hospital but his leg incision site has become infected. He experiences pain, swelling, and discharge from the wound. Sorn is currently unable to walk and cannot work. When Sorn learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), he traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On July 19th, surgeons at CSC will perform a debridement procedure to remove the damaged and infected tissue from Sorn's wound. Now, Sorn needs help to fund this $324 procedure. Sorn said, "after surgery, I hope my leg will heal and I will walk normally again."

Sinuon is a 39-year-old woman from Cambodia. Together, she and her husband have a four-year-old son. Her husband is a day laborer, while Sinuon and her son collect aluminum cans and bottles to recycle for additional income. In March 2020, Sinuon was involved in a motor vehicle accident and fractured her left tibia. She went to a government hospital, where her bone was stabilized with metal hardware. Now that her fracture has healed completely, Sinuon wants to have the hardware removed from her leg to avoid potential health problems in the future and improve her comfort and mobility. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On May 4th, Sinuon will undergo a hardware removal procedure at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre. Sinuon needs help to fund this $304 procedure. Sinuon said: "After surgery, I hope that I can walk well to collect cans with no aching in my leg."

Emmanuel is a 32-year-old small-scale farmer. He has been married for four years and works alongside his wife as a farmer. He and his wife hope to one day raise children together. For the past year, Emmanual has experienced swelling and discomfort in a sensitive area that has impacted both his ability to work and his personal life. Due to his condition, Emmanual can't work on the farm and has a difficult time supporting his family. After seeking medical care, Emmanual was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia. Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, can help. On June 6th, Emmanual will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner's care center. African Mission Healthcare is requesting $230 to fund Emmanuel's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently. Emmanuel says, “I am afraid that this condition might be the one affecting my fertility and I hope for the best results once am operated on with your support. I will also be able to get back to resuming farming.”
