Chen is a 17-year-old boy from Cambodia. He is a student and loves learning the Khmer language. He wants to be a teacher when he grows up. He enjoys eating sweets and watching Thai films.
Ten years ago, he was swimming and was hit by the boat propeller. His femur was fractured. Ever since, he has difficulty walking and is in chronic pain.
He needs surgery to have improved mobility in his leg. Fortunately, he is scheduled to undergo an osteotomy on March 7. Now, our medical partner is requesting $390 to fund surgery. He looks forward to going home after the procedure and spending time with his friends.
He says, “I am looking forward to going home and getting back to school.”

Chen underwent fracture repair surgery.
Chen’s surgery went well and he’s been working with the physiotherapy team to improve the mobility and function in his leg. Surgery will allow Chen to greatly improve his quality of life and allow him to walk without pain.
He says, “I am very happy with this result. Now I can walk without pain again. I would like to say thank you very much.”
