Sovann is a 32-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He has two sons, one has not yet started school and the other studies in grade two. In his free time, Sovann likes to exercise, watch boxing on television, help around the house, and take care of his children.
One year ago, Sovann fell off of a motorcycle and fractured his right leg. He was treated at a hospital in Phnom Penh, where surgeons fixed Sovann with internal hardware to allow for his injuries to heal. Now, his wound has healed and he no longer experiences pain and can walk easily, but he now needs the hardware to be removed.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On March 6th, Sovann will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $230. This procedure will remove the hardware from Sovann’s leg, and he will be able to walk without difficulty.
