Little Kimberly is one. Her parents visited our medical partner in Guatemala, where they live, because they are concerned about their daughters’ growth.
The doctors state that, “her height and development have both faltered in the last 3 months. She is suffering from frequent severe diarrhea and other illnesses and has limited appetite.”
The doctors sent us their diagnosis, “Kimberly will need treatment to cure her chronic intestinal infections. She’ll also need basic blood work to evaluate for severe anemia and for problems with her thyroid gland. After that she’ll receive intensive growth monitoring along with food and vitamin supplementation. Her parents will receive accompaniment and education about good feeding practices. With these interventions, Kimberley’s frequent diarrhea should stop, and she should begin to grow and develop once again.”
The intensive nutritional therapy that Kimberley needs costs $535, but Kimberley’s parents cannot afford this. Your donation will get Kimberley the care she needs to get healthy, and start growing normally again.
