David is a three-year-old boy from Cambodia. He lives with his mother and brother and likes to play with toys and watch cartoons.
David has a broken left tibia that is causing him great pain. Doctors at our medical partner’s care center, Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre, have recommended that David undergo corrective surgery.
David is scheduled to receive treatment on April 5. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $411 to cover the cost of the operation. Doctors will repair his fracture, securing the bone with hardware. This will allow David’s leg to heal, enabling him to walk, play, and develop normally.

David underwent leg surgery.
David’s treatment for his left tibia went well. Surgeons at CSC performed an external fixation procedure and bone graft to align and fix his bones. Following the procedure, he was instructed to keep his left leg elevated to prevent swelling and he was given pain medication. He had physiotherapy at CSC for two weeks before being discharged. His wounds have healed nicely and he does not experience any pain. David is now able to walk more easily than before.
David’s mother says, “I am so happy to see my son walk better. Thanks to all of the doctors at CSC for the help.”
