Kar underwent a CT scan.

After the scan, he underwent a shunt insertion surgery. Now, his condition is much better.

Kar’s mother said, “If I compare to before, now my son’s condition is getting better. I hope that he will recover after the treatment and so that we can return home.”

Kar is an eight-month-old boy from Burma. He lives with his family in Hpa-an, Karen State.

When Kar was three month old, his parents noticed for the first time that his head size was increasing. Besides the increased head size, Kar suffers from occasional fever (about every three to four months) and has trouble sleeping.
