Kim Sreng is a 48-year-old woman from Cambodia who works as a taxi driver assistant. She is married and enjoys organizing taxi services and listening to music in her free time.
In March, Kim Sreng was in a motor vehicle accident which caused a degloving injury of her lower right leg. In the case of this type of an injury, a section of skin is completely torn off of the underlying tissue, severing its blood supply. Although doctors at a provincial hospital removed dead and infected tissue and performed a skin graft to heal Kim Sreng’s wounds, her symptoms have not improved. It is difficult for Kim Sreng to walk, and she is in pain.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $440 to fund a new skin graft for Kim Sreng, which she is scheduled to receive on June 19. This procedure will hopefully relieve Kim Sreng of her pain, allowing her to walk easily and comfortably again.
