Heang is a 58-year-old farmer who is married with four sons and two daughters. He likes to work in his rice fields and be at home in his free time.
In August 2016, Heang sustained a head injury, and later developed an ulcer on the right side of his forehead. He went to his provincial hospital and also saw a traditional healer for treatment, but his symptoms did not improve. The ulcer is about 10 centimeters by 5 centimeters in size. Heang experiences a lot of discomfort and pain due to his injury.
Heang found out about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), from a relative. He traveled for four hours with his son to reach CSC for treatment.
In order to help Heang, CSC is requesting $606 to support his surgery and hospital stay. Surgeons at CSC’s care center, Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre, will remove the ulcer and perform a skin flap procedure to cover the wound and help Heang feel comfortable again.
Heang is scheduled to undergo surgery on August 3.
